Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand had already been working on his own music before frontman Corey Taylor announced an indefinite hiatus of the band in 2020.

Rand recruited Paralandra singer Casandra Carson and they began releasing music as LIFE Project in April 2021 with the debut single “The Nothingness”. A second single “Ignite” followed that May. Their five song eponymous EP includes the two aforementioned tracks. “Dying Of The Light” appeared in September 2022.
