Leo

L.E.O. (not Leo) is a deliberate pastiche of the Electric Light Orchestra (E.L.O.) fronted by Boston musician and producer Bleu (AKA William James McAuley III). In 2002 he learned details of Jeff Lynne’s studio methods and techniques with E.L.O. Intrigued by the methods and already a fan of E.L.O., McAuley produced the album Alpacas Orgling, which was released in 2006. According to Bleu/McAuley, the initials could stand for “Little Electric Operas” or “Little E-mail Operas,” the latter being particularly appropriate given that the album was largely recorded remotely by its musicians.
