Laraw ( Lara Rawadi) is a Montreal-born singer-songwriter of Moroccan and Lebanese origin. Initially on track for a career in the video game industry, she elected to pursue her musical aspiration after studying music production and sound design, leaning into her inner geek.


Rawadi writes to cope with life’s stressful ways, as a result her words are very raw, personal and quasi-therapeutical. Music Producer Tim Buron met Laraw a year ago and started writing a few songs with the singer-songwriter, developed her sound leading up to a gritty, yet melodic first release “I Should Call The Cops” in March 2019.


After losing her job, Laraw decided to help out the family business, never letting an opportunity go to waste, “Pretty Necklace” video doubles as a makeshift commercial for her dad’s garage. «My dad literally broke his back for me and my family. This is the least I can do ».


Deeply passionate about fashion, the singer-songwriter occasionally models for local brands. Up-and-coming designer Rémi van Bochove (@ray.anh.tuan) custom-makes all her outfits. The outfits for “Pretty Necklace” are one of the first custom-made by the designer in collaboration with Laraw “the idea was to represent her bold personality and versatility within different styles”.
