Birmingham-born hip-hop artist & producer, Kyo Waves started out making music and writing hip-hop material around early 2006. Using platforms such as DatPiff & HotNewHipHop to put out mixtapes he had recorded in his bedroom with a desktop microphone, Kyo worked towards gaining exposure and building a fanbase.
His American hip-hop influences has allowed him to be very different on the UK scene from what others would consider to be a UK or Birmingham sound. Some of Kyo’s influences include: Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, JAY-Z, Nas, Dr. Dre, Kid Cudi, Michael Jackson & Pharrell Williams.
During the period between January 2018 – April 2019, Kyo took a long break from music to follow his love for fashion. He is currently the founder and creative director of BADVIBESONLY®, founded in 2016 & launched July 2018.
June 9th 2019, Kyo released the sequel to his self titled album 3 years later, titled Kyo Waves 2.
