KRISTS SARŽANTS is a Latvian composer and pianist, who takes his inspiration from jazz, classical and film music. Studied at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg, Denmark. He also represented JVLMA at the IASJ (International Association of Schools of Jazz) conferencein Viljandi, Estonia in 2018. So far Krists has collaborated with many renowned musicians in Latvia and worldwide, including Kenneth Dahl Knudsen, Peter Hertmans, Evilena Protektore, Dāvis Jurka, Yacine Boularès, Rob Duguay, various musicians from the Latvian Radio Big Band, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and the Latvian National Opera, performing in Latvia, Denmark, Estonia, the Netherlands, USA and elsewhere. He was the opening artist for 2019 TEDx Riga conference as well as his compositions were included in the official compilation album “Jazz in Latvia 2018” and “Jazz In Latvia 2020”. Krists upcoming album will come out in May 30th, 2020.
