Kommil Foo is a Flemish cabaret duo consisting of brothers Raf Walschaerts and Mich Walschaerts.

In 1987, the brothers gave their first performance as ‘Kommil Foo’ (corruption of the French ‘comme il faut’ (‘as it should be’)) in a Ghent student club. In 1988, they performed their first real show Ballade. Between 1988 and 1992, the brothers wrote three musical theatre programmes. With varying success, they played in youth clubs, small theatres, and so on. In late 1992, the duo’s fourth programme Plank won an award in Rotterdam. The jury spoke of a ‘perfect duo with a great future’. Plank marked the duo’s breakthrough and was performed over 250 times in Flanders and the Netherlands.

In 1998 they performed their anniversary show 10 years Kommil Foo: Het Allerbeste with an extended orchestra and in 2002 the 15-year anniversary was celebrated in the Sportpaleis in Antwerp. In 2004, the duo was the central guest at Nekka-Nacht. Meanwhile, they continue to tour successfully in Flemish and Dutch theatres.

One of their best-known songs is Ruimtevaarder, taken from their 2002 album Praise of Madness. Since 2017, the song has ranked highly in all-time charts such as the Belpop 100 and the Low Countries list. In 2019, Kommil Foo took part in the television programme Liefde voor muziek, from which their song Stilte na de storm (an adaptation of Calm after the storm by The Common Linnets) became a big hit in the Flemish Top 50. In the same period, they released a compilation album (Oogst – 30 years of Kommil Foo), which was awarded a gold record in Flanders.
