Kittyhawk is an American indie emo rock and indie pop band from Chicago, IL, formed in 2011.

Originally signing with Chicago record label Storm Chasers LTD in 2013, the group released music with Skeletal Lightning. The next year they moved onto Flannel Gurl Records, and finally secured a contract with emo rock community giant, Count Your Lucky Stars Records, where they would release a full-length studio debut album.

The band consists of keyboardist and lyricist Kate Grube, guitarists and vocalists Mark Jaeschke and Erik Czaja, bassist Clare Teeling (as of 2019), and drummer Evan Loritsch, with all members acting as vocalists, often with Kate at the lead.

The original set consisted of an assortment of members from Dowsing, Options, The Island of Misfit Toys, Into It. Over It. (live), and several other groups.

Drawing their name from Kitty Hawk, NC, the town where the Wright brothers first took flight, the band has given homage to the innovative duo in their past merchandise, such as this shirt illustrated for the band by artist Emily Torem:
