Solomon Marley-Spence, better known by his stage name King Cruff, is a London born artist from Ontario, London.

He is the grandson of Bob Marley & Rita Marley

Marley-Spence wrote his first song at the age of 12 for a school project, the last thing he ever expected was to sign a life-changing record deal. The 25-year old Canadian-Jamaican artist, who dropped his debut single “Samurai Chop” says he’s “grateful” after signing with Universal Music Canada and Tuff Gong International.

“It’s the beginning of a new chapter,” Marley-Spence told LondonBlog. “It felt like a win not just for myself but my family, friends and musical peers that supported me throughout my journey.” Before moving back to Canada for post-secondary school, Marley-Spence spent several years in Jamaica, which he says influenced his musical talents. “Growing up in Jamaica introduced me to a long list of artists that have brought reggae to the forefront,” he said. “When I make my music, I try to convey a story that people can connect with. I try to give people a sense of being home, without being home.” Solomon says he plans to release his debut album in 2023.
