Darien Gomez Jr aka KidDr1ft, Dr1ft or Kid(for short) started music as a little kid in the late 90’s. In elementary school joined an after school program that helped pursue his music skills. The unsigned artist who also enjoys the bboy life as well. The Artist comes out of Saint Paul, MN but originally born in Minneapolis, MN at a young age he knew what he was destined for. Music has always played an important part in his life whether it was to free him from his problems or just because he was happy, music was always there. I guess you could say many artists from the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s inspired him to become the artist he is today. So the thing that keeps him focus isn’t just family, it’s also telling himself “you can’t always be the greatest at everything you do but at least you could try to be”. With the Kid entering the scene of live performances he hopes that one that he will be able to start and grow his very own label.

In high school, the Kid was everywhere from art to dance to music. As an artist, he learned how to draw the images he had in his head that went aside with his music using not only paper and pencil but with computer software from paint to Adobe Photoshop and more. The bboy part expressed how the Kid felt as a kid. Letting out all the anger and frustration with dance and music was something that could not be compared.

In late 2012, Dr1ft started to officially release his own music online to the public through ReverbNation and SoundCloud, KidDr1ft released 5 singles featuring other artist that year.

When the world came along the Kid felt that the material could be better and went to remove the old songs that you might consider artists heard but not heard songs. Working on his own style and craft the Kid went back to the basics of music with old friends the turn out to be new enemies. Releasing free singles with artist and actor like Ladell Parks from 2014-2015 but removing them early 2016 the Kid felt the trust he had in others were hard to find in himself.

in mind 2016, the Kid released his EP ‘Welcome to the Kid’s World’, which was based on the life and how people treat people like puppets. With songs like ‘Who Am I" you get the feeling of Dr1ft questioning himself and the role he has in life. We come to 'Trynna Live My Life’, where people question the Kid so with this song he aims to set it straight that he’s trying to live his life without the thoughts of others.
