Kharma Code was formed in 2007 as a result of Francisco (Pack) Cosano’s determination to create a progressive rock/metal band, a musical style that goes way back in his family, and which has been his main influence from the moment he started playing drums. After several failed attempts to create a project in this direction, he decided to start from scratch with his friend Kike, to whom he encouraged to learn to play bass and be a part of this grand idea. After some time, Carlos Rey and Orlando Alemán came on board to become Kharma Code’s first guitar players, a position that would go through several changes throughout the years. They would soon be joined by Joaquín Díaz on keyboards, who brought great musical and compositional skills to the band and who motivated the band even more to attain a solid and definitive line-up. After months of search, they stumbled upon David Ordás through the “Escuela de Música Creativa”, and it became obvious from the very first moment that he had to be the voice of the band.
Within the next year Orlando left the band and was replaced by Sergio Rivas, but it wasn’t until mid 2009 with the incorporation of Nacho on guitars that the band reached the stability they had longed for, and closing the current line-up: Francisco Cosano (Pack) on drums, Enrique Martínez (Kike) on bass, Joaquín Díaz on keyboards, David Ordás on vocals and Nacho Hernández on guitars.

After playing some local gigs in which they covered songs of bands like Dream Theatre, Pain of Salvation or Queen, in 2010 they set themselves to write and record their first studio album Secrets Indoors, released in 2011. Recorded in Oasis Studios, the album brings together the band’s broad musical influences melting them into two main elements: symphonic rock and progressive metal, trying to evoque epic passages, mixing them with crushing rhythms and crazy instrumental moments. Apart from the bands mentioned above, the band refers to Symphony X, Neal Morse, Transatlantic, Conception, Andromeda, Muse, Ayreon and Haken as influences.
