Kelsea Nicole Ballerini is an American country singer-songwriter from Knoxville, TN.

She made her presence known in the music scene in 2014, after signing with Black River Entertainment, releasing her first track: “Love Me Like You Mean It.” Her debut song would crack the Country Airplay chart giving her an immediate rise in the country scene. Her self-titled EP would follow in late 2014. The EP would be followed up by her debut album the next year, featuring her EP tracks and seven new songs. Kelsea became the first female country artist to have three consecutive number ones from her debut album.

Her next album, Unapologetically, would peak at #7 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2017.

Kelsea followed up this success with her double album kelsea | ballerini in 2020. The album is 12 songs, with two renditions of the tracks. Kelsea explained the double album with Taste of Country:

Kelsea is glitter: bold and effervescent and dreams that are boundless. She’s who I want to be. While Ballerini is emotional, vulnerable, soft: observes her surroundings and chooses her words carefully. She’s who I am.

SUBJECT TO CHANGE would mark Kelsea’s fifth straight release to crack the Billboard 200, peaking at #18 in 2022.

Her 2024 record PATTERNS served as a new milestone for Kelsea, peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 the highest peak of her career.

She has been featured in successful singles as well, appearing alongside The Chainsmokers for their 2018 hit “This Feeling.”
