Kat Dobay
Kat Dobay is an indie pop/folk singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Growing up in a city known for its music scene, Kat has been surrounded by music her entire life. She discovered her passion for performing at a young age at rock and roll camp where she discovered her skills as a singer and writer. Kat wrote her first song at the age of thirteen and went on to teach herself to play guitar. She spent most of high school as the frontman of a jazz-funk band called Vanilla Milk Sasquatch. In recent years she’s been experimenting with recording in her closet. Now that she’s a solo act she’s been selling homemade “mixtape” CDs to anyone who will listen, in a true DIY spirit. Her voice sounds like salted honey, she could sing the phonebook and just might if you ask her nicely. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Alanis Morissette, Soccer Mommy, Pheobe Bridgers and Julia Jacklin, Kat’s music is characterized by introspective lyrics and heartfelt melodies. With her powerful voice and relatable lyrics, Kat’s music is deeply personal and connects with listeners on an emotional level. Her performances are filled with vulnerability, inviting audiences to join her on a journey of self-discovery and introspection.
