¥$, Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign
AKA: The Vultures, Ty Dolla $ign & Kanye West
¥$ (YS, Yen-Dollar, or, Ye ‘n’ Dolla) is an American hip-hop superduo consisting of American rapper Ye and American rapper and R&B star Ty Dolla $ign.
They began making joint music in 2014, when they were working on Ye’s seventh studio album The Life of Pablo. Following the album’s release, Ty Dolla $ign became one of Ye’s most frequent collaborators, contributing to some of his most prominent modern works — both released and unreleased — including ye and the unreleased Yandhi.
With the two maintaining a strong relationship, during 2023, Ty was one of the select few Ye invited to record music with in Tokyo, Japan and later in Italy. During the recording sessions for Kanye West’s eleventh studio album, they decided to set aside some of their music and begin creation of a three-volume collaborative album series, titled VULTURES
The first volume of the VULTURES series released on February 9, 2024 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. The album included the #1 hit “CARNIVAL”, which famously featured vocals from the Inter Milan Ultras or “the Hooligans.”
VULTURES 2 was released on August 3 of the same year and and debuted at #2 of the Billboard 200.
The third volume of the series was still being worked on as late as January 2025, but, after Kanye’s massive 2025 Twitter rant, which included disses against Ty, production on the album seemed to have haulted.
When asked on his relationship with Ye in interviews with Complex and Breakfast Club, Ty Dolla $ign has famously reponded with the six-seven meme, hinting he doesn’t wanna talk about it.
When asked about Ye and Vultures on his Drink Champs interview, Ty said:
Y'know what? We not even finna make this shit about that time period […] I ain’t really talked to dude, y'know what I’m sayin'? So, I mean, we could do a whole ‘nother Drink Champs where it’s about that […]. [Oh y'all not doing Vultures 3?] I mean, we got to do some conversating…
