Joey Pass

Hello!! I am from Boston, Massachusetts and I like to think of myself as a down-to-Earth yet spaced out dude who is using the gift of life to inspire myself and others simultaneously. I am a physical being on a spiritual quest or vice versa. Music is one of the reasons I don’t feel hopeless. It is my hobby, my purpose, my dream and I am glad that the universe has blessed me with the ability to write crafty songs with delivery and flow. I am a huge fan of the hip hop/rap scene and culture and am greatly inspired by artists like Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Ab-Soul, J. Cole, Eminem and Big Sean. I’ve met and handed my CD to Big Sean and Big Boi of Outkast and have spit freestyles for them as well – they said they enjoyed it and that was quite inspiring. I love how each artist brings their own perspective to the game and I am glad to say that with my debut rap album, Nightly Calls to the Mighty All, I can say I’ve done the same.

I first started writing rhymes on birthday cards for family members around the age of 13. Once I found Youtube I started to come across instrumental producers and got inspired in different ways from each beat. I let the beats speak to me and form turn my thoughts into lyrics. This became an everyday thing and provided me with a sense of fulfillment. I wrote over 100 songs over the years and finally decided it was time to build a quality project.

It all came together almost magically and I’m fully happy with the outcome. I’ve received mainly positive feedback and am grateful to have EVERY SINGLE listen. Each one is special to me and I hope it can resonate with whoever takes the time to lend me their ears. I don’t rap for fame or for the money, but rather for the simple love of this musical genre and to inspire others.
