Jimmy Poindexter is an American recording artist and producer from Long Beach, CA, known for his genre-defying sound and boundary-pushing vision. Launching his career from his high school bedroom, he quickly gained recognition through independent releases that set the tone for his evolving artistry. In 2018, he founded PRISM TRIBE, an avant-garde hip-hop collective, leading their debut project PTWW$$EW, Vol. I and following it with his own experimental WELCOME TO DARKNESS trilogy in 2019.

A relentless innovator, Poindexter continued collaborating with PRISM TRIBE on projects like DOG DAYS (2020) and The Four Horsemen EP (2021), while also releasing solo works such as GNARLY (2021) and *GHETTOLAND (2022). His fearless exploration of sound expanded further with DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY (2023), SHAZAM (2023) and DON’T LOOK BEHIND YOU. (2024). In 2025, Poindexter unveiled CRUEL WORLD, a bold new album that underscores his status as a visionary force, continually redefining the possibilities of modern music.
