Jenevieve Johnson (born January 30, 1998), known mononymously as Jenevieve, is an American R&B singer-songwriter with Cuban, Bahamian, Spanish, and French roots.

Jenevieve grew up near Miami, where she has a history in dance through her grandmother and mother, both ballet dancers. Now living in Los Angeles, it is here that she met her producer and songwriting partner Elijah Benzi. Additionally, she draws inspiration from pop, R&B and rock artists such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, or The Beatles, who have helped shape her musical universe—she is looking to the past to inspire a fresh and modern sound.

In February 2020, Jenevieve released her debut single as a recording artist, with “Medallion,” and a month later, she first gained notice with the release of her massive single “Baby Powder.” A year later, in May 2021, she returned with singles “Eternal” followed by “Midnight Charm” and “Résumé,” before announcing the release of her debut project Division, released on September 3, 2021. In 2022, Jenevieve followed up with her first EP Rendezvous and joined Giveon’s North American tour as direct support.

After a brief pause, Jenevieve returned in 2025 with her sophomore album CRYSALIS, preceded by the singles “Haiku,” “Head Over Heels,” and “Hvn High.” Described by the singer as a “safe space,” the 14-track project expands her palette by weaving retro soul, disco, and jazz into her signature alternative R&B. The project is accompanied by the CRYSALIS Tour across North America starting in October 2025.
