Japanese Breakfast

Japanese Breakfast is the four-piece band of Eugene, Oregon’s Michelle Zauner, with Craig Hendrix (drums), Michelle’s former bandmate Deven Craige (bass, Little Big League) and partner Peter Bradley (guitar, keyboards).

Their first album, Psychopomp, was written following the death of Michelle’s mother and released in 2016. After touring with acts such as Mitski and Porches, her second album Soft Sounds from Another Planet was released in 2017. Japanese Breakfast’s third album, Jubilee, released in 2021.

Michelle cites “tenderloin Pacific Northwest bands” as her influences, including Elliot Smith, Grandaddy, Built to Spill, and Death Cab for Cutie.
