Aidan Knight (born 30 December 2002), better known by his stage name JailBird Sage, is an Australian rapper from Melbourne, Victoria. He first became active in 2011, when he began uploading amatuer remixes of songs by Twenty One Pilots, and The Weeknd, onto Soundcloud, before quickly experimenting in more original fields of music.

Beginning to take music more seriously, rather than something to “stuff around with”, Sage began uploading dubstep instrumental tracks onto Soundcloud, which he’d made with free software and pirated samples and soundpools. He was contacted by Swedish Independent Distribution company Amuse, and struck a deal with them to distribute to major markets under his own label, Moonlit Audio.

Sage kept up this sound for a year, releasing three singles, and a double EP, Part I and Part II, which when played back to back formed what Sage referred to as “the Cycle”. The leading single Call It Portia gained 16,000 Spotify streams before the years end, and kickstarted a blossoming following for the amatuer artist.

After a steady and consistent release schedule of singles and two EP’s in the space of 8 months, Sage refrained from releasing any music whatsoever until 2019. In that space of time he expanded the label, signing new artists xadjolifto, and Adeline to Moonlit Audio.

In March 2019, JailBird Sage returned with a track that completely changed his sound as an artist, branching into a vocal, hip hop inspired direction with his track ‘Anastasia (an interlude)’. This song was led up with the single ‘ALIENATING’, which featured fresh Moonlit Audio signing xadjolifto.
