Interceptor

Interceptor is an American speed metal band from Charleston, South Carolina, formed in 2022 by Blake “Bulldözer” Arenvurst. As of 2026, the band’s lineup consists of Arenvurst (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Brandon Barker (lead guitar), Donnie Branson (bass), and Jack “Hammer” Latham (drums).

Interceptor released their first demo, Thrashing Violence, on July 23, 2022, containing the title track, “Hatred,” and “Into the Hellmouth.” Their second demo, Nuclear Devastation, came a year later in February of 2023, and a compilation was made of the two demos, entitled Demo Tapes 1 & 2 (alternatively released as Interceptor Demo). The singles “Witch’s Dance” and “Into the Hellmouth” (a new version) was released in late 2023 and early 2024 respectively. Interceptor’s debut album, Tales of Mayhem, was released on June 22, 2024. The band embarked on a successful tour to promote the album, and released a new single, “Sorceress,” on October 31, 2024. Their lineup during this era consisted of guitarist Johnny Faiella, drummer Elijah Hicks, and an instrument switch from Arenvurst (guitarist to bassist).

On February 13, 2025, Interceptor announced plans for a new tour, entitled the Metal Death American Tour. The band would announce their second studio album, Metal Death, a week later. The band would release the single “Fire” on March 26, 2025, before releasing the album on May 9, 2025. Arenvurst cited that their previous album was a “surefire tribute,” acknowledging critics that mention extreme similarities to speed metal band Venom in both the band’s music and fashion style.

In late 2025, Hicks would exit from the band and would be replaced by Jack Latham. Faiella would leave a few months later, and a new lineup would be formed. Arenvurst reverted back to guitar duties while bassist Donnie Branson and guitarist Brandon Barker would join the band. The first release from this lineup would be the single “Blood on the Kudzu,” which released in January 2026.
