Inferium is a symphonic metal band from Durbanville, South Africa.

Inferium originally formed in 2005 and went through several lineup changes before the band went their separate ways at the beginning of 2006.

In June 2006, founding members Chris Cain and Daniel Vollgraff decided to put the project back together again. In late 2007, Heike Langhans joined the band as lead vocalist.

After going through further lineup changes, Inferium disbanded for good in 2010 due to lacking time and resources to push the project further.
