indie tribe is an independent Christian hip-hop collective featuring nobigdyl. (founder), Mogli The Iceburg, Jon Keith, DJ Mykael V, and Torey D'Shaun.

The concept of indie tribe originally came to nobigdyl. as he was beginning his solo career in 2014. Helping bring the concept to life was dyl.’s friend and fellow creative Jacob (a.k.a. Mogli) with the release of dyl.’s mixtape smoke signal. marketed as “indie tribe presents” and featured the key tagline “Tribe on the Move” which has been somewhat of a slogan ever since.

A year after smoke signal., dyl. had recruited Jarry Manna to the tribe. This trio-version of indie tribe released their intro single “Next” for Mogli’s album Tumultu in September 2016. About a year after, the tribe introduced WHATUPRG to the group and released “High Horse” in early November 2017 to debut the new full-bodied collective. Unfortunately, the group seemed short-lived as both Jarry and RG announced that they had left the tribe in 2020 with no music since 2017.

When the news broke, DJ Mykael V started a conversation that led to an encouragement to continue indie tribe with new members. Mykael, who had already been DJ'ing for dyl. asked if he could join with the caveat that he could get Jon Keith on board; to which dyl. agreed. This led to the announcement of their new lineup and a new album, U P P E R H A N D, in 2021. The album debuted at #92 on the Billboard Top 100.

Before the album’s release, the collective announced the creation of their own 3-day Christian Hip-Hop festival, Holy Smoke!, which allowed various artists to be able to perform with the upmost excellence including professional visuals and sound for every artist. The festival still continues to this day.

Keeping the momentum going, the tribe released their sophomore L O W B L O W in August 2023. When debuting some of the new songs, at Holy Smoke! 2023, the four announced that they had recruited a new member, Torey D'Shaun, and released “STILL HOLY,” which not only introduced Torey’s rapping abilities, but also his production skills. In anticipation of Holy Smoke! 2024, the tribe released INDIE500 as a special project of unreleased tracks as well as more tracks to perform with Torey as the new member.

As of 2026, they have released their third album, WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?, being the first album with tribe. member, Torey D'Shaun.
