Born in Gifu, Japan, on November 9, 2000, imase is a Japanese singer-songwriter and producer under Universal Music Japan. Despite having no formal music training, he started composing music in November 2020. In just over a year, he taught himself the basics, steadily building his skills. On December 19, 2021, imase officially debuted with the single “Have a nice day.”

In August 2022, imase released the single “NIGHT DANCER,” which became a massive hit. The track became the first Japanese song to chart on South Korea’s Melon 100 chart and also landed a spot on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. “NIGHT DANCER” won imase the Genre of the Year – J-POP award at the 13th Circle Chart Music Awards (CCMA 2023). Following these successes, imase earned the title “Monster Rookie.”

In September 2022, he released the single “うたう (Utau),” as part of the Pokémon Music Collective project by Universal Music Japan and The Pokémon Company. On November 9, 2022, imase celebrated his 22nd birthday with his first EP, POP CUBE, which peaked at #18 on Oricon chart.

In March 2023, imase kicked off his first live concert, POP OVER, at Shibuya WWW in Japan. On May 26, 2023, he released the single “Nagisa,” which ranked #29 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. Later that year, imase collaborated with South Korean girl group LE SSERAFIM to produce their song “ジュエリー (Jewelry)” in July 2023, followed by “ドレスコード (Dresscode)” in November 2023.

In 2023, imase won the 優秀作品賞 (Excellence Work Award) at the 65th Japan Record Awards. Additionally, he set the record as the first Japanese artist to perform at both MMA 2023 and CCMA 2023 in South Korea.

In April 2024, imase released “Happy Order?” as a collaboration with McDonald’s. A month later, on May 15, 2024, he released his first album, 凡才 (Bonsai), which ranked #4 on Oricon Album Chart.

From June to July 2024, imase held his first overseas tour, Shiki, performing in five cities across Asia. In July 2024, imase was featured on two songs: Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra’s “一日花 (Ichinichibana)” with Narashino High School Symphonic Band, and オールスターズ (Nyanchu All Stars)’s “ココロウチュウ (Kokorouchu)” alongside singer-songwriter, Yuika.

Later, imase collaborated with singer-songwriter and producer natori on two singles: “メロドラマ (Melodrama)” in August 2024 and “メトロシティ (Metrocity)” in September 2024.

In late 2024, imase released several more singles. In October 2024, he released “Dried Flower,” the theme song for the Japanese movie I Just Dropped My Phone: The Final Chapter – Final Hacking Game, and “アウトライン (Outline),” a commemorative song for the 2024 All Japan High School Soccer Tournament. He followed this with “プリズム (Prism),” the theme song for the Japanese TV drama Chaser Game W2: Utsukushiki Tennyotachi in November 2024. Finally, he announced his live concert, imase Hall Tour 2025, which will take place from April to June 2025 in Japan.

imase started 2025 with the theme song “EGOIST,” for the anime series トリリオンゲーム (Trillion Game), released on January 9. He also announced his upcoming live concert, imase LIVE: “Have a nice day,” which will be held at Nippon Budokan on July 25, 2025.
