Idele
East London, British Nigerian Idele creates alternative RnB music influenced by old school Soul and RnB.
Idele found her inspiration in the old Motown records and 90’s RnB tracks her mum and sister played for her. At 14, Idele signed up for theatre school and began her musical journey. At Young and Talented theatre school, the glee club ‘The Real Deal’ was formed with Idele as a member and they went on to win BBC Sports Relief does Glee. Idele proceeded to study Music at BTEC and then at a postgraduate level. Whilst studying at the renowned music conservatoire, Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire), Idele performed regularly gigging and releasing music in Leeds. She opened for Sampha the Great at Headrow House and joined various choirs. One of which (Leeds Contemporary Singers) went on to win BBC Pitch Battle.
In 2024, Idele graduated from LAAMP, a music program in Los Angeles, run by the production duo Stargate and executive directed by Chris Anokute. She spent 9 months being mentored in this program and writing for the likes of Deputy, Kosine, Yung Gravy and Emily Warren.
