Houis
Houis (pronounced “weece”) is a French-American producer based in NYC. Influenced by artists such as Bonobo and Tom Misch, his distinct R&B lofi sound has evolved to include elements of a newer indie/house aesthetic.
As both a visual and sound artist, Houis displays a dexterity between visual aesthetics and his music which alludes to a wide range of ever-evolving skill.
2023 sees him releasing debut album “Outgrown”, as well as having had his debut live performance at Lofi Festival in NYC on March 18th.
“Outgrown” perfectly depicts the full range of his musical convictions, from UKG inspired lo-fi instrumentals, 80’s leaning indie-pop Open & Repeat with Emmett Kai , to soulful offerings with international guest features such as Daydreamin'( with Blush'ko). “Outgrown” is out 2023 via Lekker Collective.
To follow the release of the album, a deluxe version of Outgrown: B-sides was released May 9 2024, including instrumentals and remixes of the project.
