Alexander Nsiah, professionally known as Hitman Hyper, is a seasoned East London MC and actor of Ghanaian heritage, best known as a first-generation grime MC who rose to prominence while the genre was still finding its identity.

Born in 1974 in Clapton and raised in Bromley-by-Bow and Forest Gate/Stratford, he emerged on the pirate radio scene as a member of Terror Danjah’s jungle collective Reckless Crew alongside D Double E, Triple Threat and Bruza in the late 1990s. With D Double and Jammer, he was later a part of the garage crew 187, who appeared regularly on Flava FM.

Internal disputes in 187 and an invitation to meet with Marcus Nasty led the three MCs to transfer into the rising N.A.S.T.Y. Crew in 2001, with whom they would go on to attract a cult following during the halcyon days of Mak 10’s Deja Vu FM show and early singles such as “Take You Out”. Kano joined shortly afterwards, and Hyper and Double co-starred alongside him on the cover of RWD Magazine around 2003, inspiring a famous lyric on “Ps and Qs”. Hyper further raised his profile as the main voice of N.A.S.T.Y.’s “Cock Back”, a 2003 hit which reportedly sold 10,000 vinyl and dominated pirate radio for several years. He also appeared on Jammer’s iconic “Destruction” the same year.

Despite his compadres Jammer and D Double departing from the crew shortly afterwards, Hyper remained a consistent member of N.A.S.T.Y. into the mid-noughties, appearing on key songs such as “War Talk” (aka “Hot Water”), the rally tune “Nasty Bonanza” with Dynasty Crew, and the Channel U era hit “Girls Love N.A.S.T.Y.” He stepped back from the limelight in the following years, focusing on his personal life while making sporadic musical contributions, typically alongside former crew mates such as the late Terror Danjah and Stormin.

Since the 2020s, Nsiah has branched out into acting and voiceover work, working with brands such as Vodafone, Sky Sports and Skoda. As of 2026, he is due to appear in the Apple TV original series The Wanted Man with Hugh Laurie, and is training at Kingdom School of Arts. He continues to be an active grime artist, and appeared on Silencer’s all-star single “Through Ball”.
