Hen Ogledd take their name from the phrase for the Old North, the Celtic region comprising Southern Scotland and Northern England in early Middle Ages Britain. The band members – harpist Rhodri Davies, Dawn Bothwell, Sally Pilkington, and Richard Dawson – all hail “from historically different tribal regions of the Old North”.
