Flyleaf is an American Christian rock band. They originally formed in 2002 under the name “Passerby” before changing their name to Flyleaf in June 2004 when signing to Octone Records.
The band released their debut Self-Titled EP in late 2004, which contained demos of songs that would be released on their debut self-titled album. Flyleaf would crack the Billboard 200 and remain on the charts for 133 weeks. It was also their only album to be certified Gold and then Platinum in 2008.
Memento Mori followed up in 2009, a deep concept album about the ‘Passerby Army’ and the ‘Dread Army’ symbolizing the Christian Life, Jesus, and Spiritual Warfare. Memento Mori would remain on the Billboard 200 for 26 weeks, climbing all the way to #8.
An acoustic follow-up to Memento Mori was released in 2010 called Remember to Live EP. This EP would also crack the Billboard 200 landing at #111 for a week.
In 2012 lead singer and band founder Lacey Sturm, announced she would be stepping away from the band to focus on family. Kristen May took her place as the band released their third album Between The Stars.
In 2022 Flyleaf and Sturm announced a reunion, followed by several shows they did together.
