Fluency Grey was born in Ottawa Ontario Canada and is a self-taught, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter with a degree in music production. With 10 years experience playing live shows, recording studio sessions, touring to perform, and collaborations spanning two continents and multiple countries, Fluency Grey hopes to one day meet a group of musicians dedicated to making original music as a full time profession. Until then however, Fluency has decided to release some of his own material for others to hear, and sincerely hopes people enjoy the music.

As an artist Fluency is fascinated by the use of intricate melodies and rhythms interwoven with controlled bursts of ferocity and noise. Filling space with sound is a constant of Fluency’s writing. His instruments are bound by no defined roles and are written to compliment each other discarding structures such as rhythm or lead as necessary, and culminating in a single melody comprised of many textures. His latest album Howl at the Moon is meant as an example and exploration of this ideology in utmost practice.

Similarly to his complex arrangements, his lyrics are riddled with allusions, metaphors and double meanings, in an attempt to convey as much meaning and emotion as possible in every syllable. With obvious poetic influence, Fluency conveys feelings of loss, curiosity, anger and insecurity; drawing on moments in time, past experiences and personal challenges, Fluency aspires to create an open, honest connection with listeners and prove we all face similar challenges we can over come through hope and by supporting each other.
