FLO
FLO is a British girl group consisting of members Jorja Douglas, Renée Downer and Stella Quaresma. They are inspired by the likes of SZA, Mariah Carey, Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, H.E.R. and Mary J. Blige.
Often cited by critics as the spark behind the revival of R&B girl groups, FLO channels the nostalgia and vocal power of 90s and 00s legends. The trio frequently cites icons like Brandy and Destiny’s Child as major inspirations for their sound, with their music praised for picking up where they groups left off. They are consistently vocal about reclaiming sisterhood, female independence, and authentic R&B in today’s music.
The trio released their debut single “Cardboard Box” in March 2022, and quickly gained attention on social media after a clip from the music video went viral on Twitter. Just four months later, they followed up with their debut EP, The Lead, which was met with critical acclaim. The success of the project earned them the 2023 Brit Award for Rising Star, making them the first girl group ever to win the award.
In March 2023, they released “Fly Girl”, a collaboration with American rapper and icon Missy Elliott. The track became their highest entry on the UK Singles Charts, debuting at number 38. By July 2023, the group surprise-released their second EP, 3 of Us, featuring four new songs as a gift to their fans for patiently waiting for their debut album.
Finally, on November 15, 2024, they released their debut album, Access All Areas. The singles include “Walk Like This”, “Check” and “In My Bag” featuring American rapper GloRilla.
