Flawed Mangoes

AKA: Evan Keith Lo, fla.mingo (USA), Evan Lo

Born in 2002, Evan Lo, creatively known as Flawed Mangoes , is a Boston-based musician of American nationality and Asian descent.

He began playing the piano in childhood and later picked up the guitar while playing in high school bands. This experience sparked his interest in arranging and composing music on a computer, ultimately leading him to produce electronic music.

He first started making trap metal music under the name “fla.mingo”, where he produced for some artists who were on that scene, most notably for GOTH, Zotiyac, BLCKK and kill ebola.
He even produced for other artists outside of trap metal, he worked with the likes of Viper and Kankan as well.

Trap metal wasn’t his main focus though because during that time, he was also experimenting with ambient sounds, experimenting with his guitar to create the most ambient, sonic, blues and soothing sounds ever in his discography which especially leaned into dreamcore, an ambient subgenre known for its dreamy and ethereal sounds.

While his earliest releases date back to 2016, it wasn’t until he released Swimming, Fragilty, Dramamine that he would start gaining more and more traction, as those songs started to blow up on apps like Instagram and Tiktok, it created a cult fanbase bigger than ever for Flawed Mangoes, and with those songs blowing up and being used on reels, fans also popularized an aesthetic trend called “hopecore” which Flawed Mangoes would run with as well.

As of now, Flawed Mangoes is still making music and still passionate about his craft, as he recently released his 5th installement of the “Anomaly” project series 13 days ago.
