Fifth Ave Jay
AKA: Jaquan Grandison, 5th Ave Jay
Fifth Ave Jay (previously Swagger Jagger 5th), a Brooklyn-born rapper, has built a reputation on raw storytelling, cinematic production, and unflinching depictions of street life and ambition. A New York underground circuit product, Jay made his name on the basis of a streak of raw, self-released projects that merge East Coast realism with modern trap and drill sonics.
He gained a following over the years for his consistency and detail-driven writing, which often pulled from real events, neighborhood names, and coded slang from his neighborhood.
With features via One Way Music, the label headed by Cg Prince, Jay has positioned himself as one of the most authentic new voices in the Brooklyn rap scene today.
It’s a balance of loss and loyalty, hurt and hustle, Fifth Ave Jay’s music is an inner-city street legacy — with the glimmer of someone who has seen both sides of success.
