Faraquet is a highly influential post-hardcore and math rock trio made up of guitarist and vocalist Devin Ocampo, drummer and percussionist Chad Molter, and bassist Jeff Boswell. The band formed in 1997 in Washington, D.C. and were signed to well-known post-punk D.C. label, Dischord records before disbanding in 2001. They were influenced by their post-punk D.C. peers like Jawbox and Fugazi as well as prog-rock powerhouses like King Crimson. The band was and is known for its raw post-punk sound topped with intricate and technical guitar and drum work signature to the math rock sound.
