Exemption was a progressive metal band from New York, New York, comprised of guitarist Nick Lee, bassist/vocalist Tom Moran, and drummer/producer Ray Marte. They recorded their debut album The Rabbit Hole in 2007, while all 3 band members were still in high school. They released the Harmony of the Spheres EP in 2009, and released their second and final full-length, Public Cemetery Party, in 2010, before breaking up the next year due to creative differences. Lee and Marte went on to form Moon Tooth in 2012, while Moran embarked on a solo career.
