Ettrick Shepherd
AKA: Sheppy, Joe Hogg
Joe Hogg, better known as Ettrick Shepherd, is an up and coming rapper from Brisbane, Australia. He began rapping in 2010, after listening to Gym Class Heroes, T.I, Eminem and Flo Rida.
In July of 2017, Ettrick Shepherd released his first song Me, building up to his first mixtape The Brother Joseph Mixtape which was released on the 27th of September. This mixtape was closely followed by the release of an EP, Negative Habits, on the 4th of December. On The 4th of August 2018, Ettrick Shepherd released his second EP, The Ettrick Shepherd EP which was very well received by his listeners mainly due to the popularity of the projects lead single, Joint, a remix of Hell on Earth by hip-hop duo Mobb Deep.
Ettrick Shepherd’s debut album was released on the 13th of March 2020, containing fan favouries like Intro and Yaks & Polar Bears. Ettrick spent the rest of that year rolling out his third EP – The Ettrick Shepherd EP. The project is his greatest one yet thanks to the success of Joint 2 and Iso Vibe.
In March of 2021, Ettrick Shepherd went back to his roots and released Downers – an incredibly open and emotional body of work. His most dedicated listeners saw this as a return to form as he momentarily backed away from the braggadocios rap style.
