Eric George Lopez (born September 7, 2002), known professionally as ericdoa, is a rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer residing from Connecticut. ericdoa is also affiliated with the NeilaWorld collective.

Since his childhood, Eric’s always had an obsession with music, as he used to studiously make his way through a stack of his father’s CDs, constantly trying to break down and understand everything that was happening in them. He would also break out instruments and sing at every family gathering. Eric used to be a troublemaker, often getting suspended in school, but ever since he started uploading his music to SoundCloud, he managed to keep himself out of trouble. Throughout the years, his style devolved from dark, trap-influenced rap to projects influenced by pop, emo, and alternative rock. Alongside peers such as glaive, midwxst, and SEBii, Eric would be recognized as a pioneer of the COVID-19-pandemic hyperpop-sound, and further pushed boundaries under the Dante Red alias.

In an interview with Lyrical Lemonade Eric said:

[I] would say that I see myself as a bozo who makes music with a mic and doesn’t subject himself to a single genre. I feel like I’ve proven that I can really do anything, so I just be making shit.
…
[I] am taking everything that has been going on and turning it into exactly what I’ve always wanted to make, what I’ve always wanted to do. I am just trying to release the best music I’ve ever made and could possibly make.

Debuting under the pseudonym Killeric, Eric released his debut EP, Bleed Vol. 1, on November 3, 2018. Following its release, he changed his moniker to his current alias, ericdoa.

On July 7, 2019, Eric released DOA, the 6-track EP that kickstarted his growth, with his music career beginning to pick up soon after. On January 7, 2020, he followed up with his highly anticipated debut album, Public Target. Eric released a deluxe version of Public Target under the title DOA2 on March 20 that year.

In between singles, features, and cyphers, Eric released his hyperpop-adjacent album, COA, in November. With “2008,” “likewise,” and “thingsudo2me” with brakence, the project was quick to catch peoples' attention, and was described as its own sound that “feels emblematic of the moods and textures that [the hyperpop] scene aspires to capture.”

Although his presence in the underground-hyperpop scene was rapidly growing through hits like “Whatuworried4?,” “sheaskedwhatmylifeislike,” and kurtains' “spinna,” Eric was quicker to make a name for himself under the name Dante Red. Dante Red was his alias for releasing more bit-crushed, experimental music, and was a major influence for the hyperpop scene. The project started with the hi, i’m dante EP, with consistent releases until his label deal with Interscope Records. The project went silent for months until the release of “finale,” and the project came to an indefinite end.

Following his newfound success, he and frequent collaborator glaive started 2021 in an Airbnb with producers Whethan, Glasear, and kimj, teaming up to write, record, and produce October 2021’s then i’ll be happy. Alongside his pop records “fantasize” and “strangers,” Eric was pushing the boundaries of hyperpop and music as a whole.

On May 20, 2022, ericdoa released his long-awaited sophomore album, things with wings, preceded by singles “fool4love”–released on February 23, 2022–and “lifeline”—released on April 8, 2022.

To end off the year, Eric previewed a number of tracks, including but not limited to “lights out,” a Dante Red record that quickly gathered attention and teased the comeback of the treasured alias. Eric went relatively silent throughout 2023, only having released “˃one,” a collaboration with the hit-FPS game VALORANT, by Fall. However, his silence hadn’t gone wasted, as he was quick to begin rolling out his fourth album, DOA.

“kickstand” released as the lead single for DOA on September 22; however, the track had surfaced online nearly two weeks prior. “dancinwithsomebawdy” followed soon after on November 3, keeping fans engaged for the upcoming release. However, the two singles wouldn’t be the only attention that Eric was generating.

On January 5, 2024, Eric was livestreaming on Twitch while freestyling into a microphone. During his session, he randomly blurted out, “Imagine if Ninja had a low-taper fade.” What was simply a distraction from his late grandfather turned into a viral sensation before the release of his major album, and ericdoa stayed a staple meme throughout the year. The album released on January 19, 2024, and was well-received by many. Unlike 2023, Eric stayed fairly active throughout the year, and set out to do something never-before in the music industry.

In August 2024, Eric started LOCKED IN, a two-week long Twitch stream with the goal of recording and finishing a full length album in a random studio. The event was open-doors to many collaborators, featuring artists such as, but not limited to, Dave Blunts, glaive, and d4vd. Unfortunately, Eric’s expectations didn’t hold up as he went through writers blocks, producer complications, and content-oriented guests such as Violet Myers. Once the stream ended, Eric finalized the project in silence, although multiple unanticipated issues would arise, most notably having been unable to clear fan-favorite features from d4vd, bixby, and The Kid LAROI. Preceded by three singles, the album-turned-EP why suffer for us? released on November 29, 2024, boasting “throw it up,” his and glaive’s first collaboration since 2021. The EP also marked the end of his contract with Interscope Records.

Eric went on to have a very silent 2025, putting out next to nothing that year. His only release was on October 31, 2025, when he put out “HelloWorld” under the Dante Red pseudonym, teasing an official comeback. Additionally, he appeared as a feature on Glasear’s “set fire” in December.

Entering 2026, Eric has been expected to release his fifth album, MÚSICA DIVINO. Singles “Backdoor” and “Agoraphobia” released throughout Spring, and the album was confirmed to be finished over the summer.
