Eric Solomon is an African-Canadian electro-pop artist. Solomon lived in Kinshasa in the African Congo until he was 13 when civil war broke out in the area. Eric’s father (who sold Motorola-style communication equipment to military and government) was approached by officials offering one last seat on a military evacuation plane. Eric, the youngest of his family, got it and off he flew to live with aunties in hometown Montreal, Canada, while his two brothers and parents stayed behind. After 18 months it finally became obvious the situation was hopeless and they too got out with what they could.
