Elio, Onsen, Harmless

Elio encompasses the musical styling of Harmless (Nacho Cano) and Onsen (Drew Straus). The artists each bring their unique perspectives to create soft, tongue-in-cheek, and buttery pop songs. The project’s name is inspired by a character from the film Call Me By Your Name because phonetically it sounds like “El y Yo” which translates in Spanish to “Him and I.” Their music is made to accompany in equal measure: lovers lighting candles, brokenhearted tears falling on pillowcases, and warm winds over your first convertible.

Nacho Cano is a 26-year-old songwriter and producer who’s previously recorded under the names Twin Cabins and Canito to widespread praise. With Harmless, he looks to translate “the hopeless love I know from Mexico. Songs about impossible love, boleros in English,” into bright electronics and smooth vocals alike.

As for Drew Straus, his work under Onsen is known for lush, experimental pop praised by the likes of FLAUNT for crafting “an ethereal world.”
