Dreve was an American post-grunge band from Knoxville, Tennessee. It is notable for being the predecessor to singer Brent Smith’s later, successful band Shinedown. Some of Dreve’s songs are known for featuring lyrics that would later be repurposed in Shinedown songs like “Burning Bright” and “In Memory”.

The band’s only known official release is the Grudge EP, released independently in 1999. In early 2012, multiple Dreve songs were uploaded to YouTube by ANDREAS951207. In early 2020, several Dreve songs were found on SoundCloud, including two covers and an early version of the Shinedown song “Trade Yourself In.”
