Double AA

New Jersey music producer Double AA has been making music his whole life. At the age of two he was given his first pair of drumsticks; by the time he was 10 he was playing the drums in the church. He continued to play the drums all through elementary school into the middle school marching band.

Double AA first left his home of Clayton, New Jersey to attend Stockton University. His college campus served as his first real audience for his craft. He put together a campus mixtape with other students rapping over his beats. After the success of that mixtape, he re-made Jay-Z’s The Black Album coupled with Jay-Z’s original a capellas. Double AA Stayed up all night in the computer lab burning copies of the tape, and handed them out on campus. This was just the beginning of his hustle to success.

It’s always been important to Double AA that he make a name for himself from his hometown, so after earning a degree in visual communications, he moved back. He quickly had to learn how to deal with setbacks and disappointments after a song he made was stolen and became a billboard hit.

After experiencing that career-heartbreak, in 2016, he came back more serious than ever and was soon touring the country competing in beat battles. The first producer showcase he performed in was in New York City, soon after that he was competing in DC, Atlanta, Austin, TX, Miami and Los Angeles –and winning!

As Double AA travelled from city to city, he started making relationships with other artists and songwriters across the country. In December 2017 he met a group of producers at the “Beast of the Beats'‘ tournament in Atlanta; together they formed a collective called Bounce Gvng. Every year since that founding year, more and more people have been added to the group. Bounce Gvng now has over 40 members and counting, the foundation being a love of music.

Everyone who knows Double AA has heard him say the phrase “teamwork makes the dreamwork.” He truly believes in doing what is best for the song and taking his ego out of his work, and his love for the music making process is as strong as his passion for the music itself. You can hear some of his work with artists such as Brandy Haze, DS Quattro and RL.
