Derick Knox is a music artist from Upper Darby, PA, along the outskirts of Philadelphia. Initially a poet, he spent his high school years entering and placing in spoken word and writing contests. During his senior year, these poems found their way onto some ‘YouTube beats’ and became Derick’s first releases on SoundCloud. Since then he has built a strong presence in his local music scene through live performance and releasing several singles. He released his debut mixtape via SoundCloud and YouTube in late 2017, which sparked the interest of his surrounding area. With lyrics rooted in spiritual freedom and a diverse beat selection to keep listeners guessing, Derick continues to brand his art with authenticity.

I do this for anyone who is willing to open their mind. I will use music as an art form to enrich people and to inspire growth and freedom.
