Deejai

Jai Sathyajith (born March 4, 2008), better known as Deejai is a teenage rapper, producer, and songwriter from the vibrant cultural crosscurrents of Dubai to the deep-rooted heritage of Kerala.

Jai’s way onto the stage of music started in October 2020, when he first released the single “Drumy”, an instrumental track that he published just to showcase his productions. Later on in 2021, Jai released his first official vocal track “2K”, produced by om.

Deejai made his official debut in 2022 with a self-released EP titled “17J Street” introducing his style that melds introspective lyricism with atmospheric production. The project was a quiet but bold statement: experimental, yet gave out a rapper wannabe feeling. The EP has been argued as a lower valued piece of his discography, but each track made a story and set the stage for something much bigger.

In 2023, Deejai took the leap from emerging artist to serious contender with the release of his debut album “The E.L.I.T.E.” an abbreviation for “The Energy Lives in The End”. The project marked a significant evolution in the artist’s style, the album doesn’t just feature polished production and catchy hooks—it presents Deejai as a storyteller, capable of painting vivid emotional landscapes while keeping the sound fresh and forward-thinking.

Jai blends Indian and Western influences, drawing inspiration from artists like Tyler, The Creator, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Hanumankind and Yung Raja while staying true to his roots with Malayalam elements. Looking ahead, he’s exploring collaborations and genre-bending projects, aiming to bridge cultures through his music.
