De Mthuda (born Mthuthuzeli Gift Khoza) is a prominent South African record producer and DJ, widely recognized as a leading figure in the Amapiano genre. Born in Vosloorus, Gauteng, he began his musical journey in high school and dropped out in Grade 11 to pursue his passion for music.

He gained significant recognition in 2019 with the release of his hit single “Shesha Geza,” which was certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) and nominated for Record of the Year at the 26th South African Music Awards. De Mthuda’s debut album, Ace of Spades, released in November 2020, was nominated for Amapiano Album of the Year at the South African Amapiano Awards.

His 2021 album, The Landlord, featured collaborations with notable artists such as Sir Trill, Daliwonga, Kabza De Small, Focalistic, Njelic, Da Muziqal Chef, and Malumnator. De Mthuda’s music is characterized by a fusion of deep house, jazz, and kwaito elements, creating a unique and soulful sound that has resonated with audiences both locally and internationally.
