David Wise (1967—) is an English video game music composer, known for his work at the British software developer Rare Ltd. During his tenure with the company, he scored the music to multiple memorable soundtracks to games for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) such as R.C. Pro-Am, Snake Rattle ‘N Roll, Cobra Triangle, and WWF Wrestlemania. However, his magnum opus was his soundtrack to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) game Donkey Kong Country. In particular, the song Aquatic Ambience has become a staple in video game music.

In addition, Wise wrote the music to Rare’s Battletoads series, which was inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In 2002, Wise left Rare after they were acquired by Microsoft. He still continues to compose game music to this day.
