David Alan Kushner II (born September 6, 2000) is an American singer-songwriter known for his emotive storytelling and soulful pop sound. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue his music career. He now resides in Nashville, TN.

In January 2022, Kushner released “Miserable Man”, which went viral on TikTok, peaking at number 11 in Norway and number 19 in Ireland, and reaching the top 40 in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. This track, along with “Mr. Forgettable”, featured on his debut EP, Footprints I Found (2022). Within a year, he amassed over 556 million streams. He also toured with Lauv during this period.

Kushner’s music is deeply influenced by his Christian faith, which he openly embraces in his songwriting. In a 2023 interview, he stated, “My faith in God has been a foundational thing in my life… I embrace my faith and write music that I think will speak to people.”

On April 14, 2023, Kushner released “Daylight”, which gained significant traction on TikTok and amassed over 1 billion streams on Spotify, showcasing its widespread popularity. The song marked a shift to a darker tone in Kushner’s music, as he adopted a lower singing voice.

On August 30, 2024, David Kushner released his highly anticipated debut album, The Dichotomy. The album features 17 tracks that explore themes of love, faith, and inner conflict, showcasing his signature emotive songwriting and soulful melodies. Shortly after its release, Kushner embarked on The Dichotomy Tour, performing across major cities in the United States and internationally. The tour not only highlighted fan-favorites like “Daylight” and “Mr. Forgettable” but also introduced audiences to new tracks from the album, further cementing his status as a dynamic and compelling artist.

In late 2024, he announced a new single, “Empty Bench”, released on December 6, 2024. He began teasing another song, “Breathe In, Breathe Out”, scheduled for release on January 31, 2025. He later revealed that both songs would be part of his EP, 20 Years From Now, which released on February 14th, 2025.

As of 2025, Kushner is dating TikTok influencer Nicole Mitchell, who has also supported his music journey.
