Culenasm is a band with four members formed in Fukuoka in 2018. The music they make can be described as a combination of shoegaze and J-Pop which has recently become quite popular in not just the live performance scene, but also on social media such as TikTok, and YouTube.

In 2021, they collaborated with Kubotakai on the song “解けない駆け引き (An unsolvable bargain)”. They have released songs quickly with success and their first album “日々は季節をめくって (The days turn over the season)” was released on the 9th of November, 2022. They released their first EP on the 10th of July, 2019 and they have only been going up since then. They had a live performance in Nagoya cancelled due to the coronavirus, but were still met with enthusiasm for their future works.

Another collaboration with Kubotakai titled “二人の答え (The answer of two)” was selected as the opening theme song for Fuji TV’s music program, “Love Music.” It was also selected as the theme song for the live broadcast of the “Shinseido Pharmacy Presents Winter Cup 2022 High School Basketball Fukuoka Prefectural Tournament Finals”. Inspiring a Japanese director Hideki Noda with their song “ふたりの傷跡 (The scars of two)” their song was used as the theme song for a movie of the same name, and the members of Culenasm appears as actors in the movie too!

Culenasm managed to win the Best Musician Award at MOOSIC LAB, a music and film project that embodies a film production project that started in 2012 and collaborates with up and coming directors and musical artists.
