Initially originated from the line-ups of well known bands (such as Nervosa or Burning Witches) CRYPTA is an all-female Brazilian/Dutch Death Metal band formed in 2020, and whose founding and current line-up consists of:

• Former Nervosa bassist/vocalist Fernanda Lira (bass and vocals);
• Former Hardwired (Metallica tribute band) guitarist Jéssica di Falchi (lead guitars);
• Former Hagbard guitarist Tainá Bergamaschi (rhythm guitars);
• Former Nervosa drummer Luana Dametto (drums).
• Current Cobra Spell guitarist Sonia Anubis served as member of the band since its inception in 2019 until April 2022, when she resigned to focus on her work with the aforementioned band.

Musically, the band is classified primarily inside the Death Metal style, although their sound is also a result of the exploration of different old-school Metal subgenres such as Thrash Metal.

After coming to life in 2019, CRYPTA signed with Napalm Records and released their much-anticipated debut album, Echoes of the Soul, on June 11th, 2021. The band announced the arrival of their sophomore album Shades of Sorrow on May 31st 2023, with the release of its first single “Lord of Ruins.” The album is was released on August 4th, 2023.
