Compton Av (born Nishon Brown McQueen in 1984) is a prominent independent West Coast rapper and entrepreneur from Compton, California, widely known as “The People’s Champ”. After a gunshot wound at age 17 ended a promising basketball career, he turned fully to music. He established a unique creative process where he freestyles every single track entirely off the top of his head without writing down lyrics.

He achieved regional stardom with his 2014 breakout street anthem “Run Me My Money” and the 2016 club hit “Money Dance.” Later, he scored a massive global viral hit with “YAYA” alongside producer Steelz, which spawned remixes with Snoop Dogg and Lola Brooke.
