Citizens (f.k.a. Citizens & Saints) are a contemporary rock band from Seattle, WA. The group was formed out of the Mars Hill Church along with other groups such as Kings Kaleidoscope. The band has released multiple records, a few stand-alone EPs, some live/acoustic projects, and many singles in their repertoire. Though some members have come and gone, the Citizens is primarily the work of lead singer Zach Bolen and multi-instrumentalist Brian Eichelberger. Towards the band’s start, they were known for many of their modern renditions of traditional hymns, but their standout track, “Made Alive,” has remained their most streamed song since the release of their self-titled debut in 2013. The song also gained attention from Christian radio stations such as Air1 around the time of their first album’s release. In 2023, the band found themselves hitting radio stations again, with their song “everything and more” from i can’t find the edges of you. Though going back and forth from being signed to being independent, as of 2024 the group finds themselves independent while being distributed by Anotherland.
