Music has always been a way of life for ChuckT. Drawing from a vast catalog of vinyl records from his family’s collection and learning
to play multiple instruments shaped the music producer, songwriter, and artist hailing from Oakland, CA.
Being influenced by a diverse array of blues, funk, hip hop, and soul, ChuckT (real name Charles Turner, Jr.) learned to read music at an early age and became familiar with various instruments through church and family members. He was later introduced to the business world of music, audio, and multimedia in 2004 while working for a non-profit organization known as Youth Radio, where he honed his craft in radio and music production.
In 2013, ChuckT decided to start writing and recording his own music as a means of reinvention and recreation and began doing this under the name “Ash DaBlunt” and released a debut album, “Focus On The Real” in 2017. But in 2016 ChuckT had some mainstream success when a song produced by him called “We Still Swim” by Messiah Ramkissoon featuring Elsun Bless was featured in The Source Magazine as well as the blog allhiphop.com.
After years of running a home studio, ChuckT decided it was time to fully invest in himself and leased commercial space to open his own professional recording studio called Rich City Studios in Richmond, California. Working together with his recording studio clientele he successfully had 2 artist showcases in 2019, one of which was featured on national television. ChuckT also worked with KQED in producing instrumentals for one of their podcasts as well producing the instrumental used in a promotional video for Oakland’s monthly First Friday Event. In February 2020 ChuckT and some of his recording studio clients came together to release a 13-track compilation album entitled “Bay Area Underground” which was recorded, mixed, mastered, & produced entirely by ChuckT at Rich City Studios.

After surviving the first wave of Coronavirus and a car accident in July 2020 that left ChuckT with a broken knee, broken finger, and other minor injuries, ChuckT released a 31-track beat tape to showcase his versatility and creativity in hopes to connect with more artists. On September 4, 2020 he followed up his August release with the release of his debut EDM album, Electronic Maestro in which he creates not only dance tracks but also covers different subgenres of EDM such as Trance and Lo-Fi.
