Chaparelle
Chaparelle is an American country music group formed in 2023 by singer-songwriters Zella Day and Jesse Woods, along with producer Beau Bedford. Day met Woods in the fall of 2021 during the Austin City Limits Music Festival, though a former partner had introduced her to Woods' music in 2017. When Woods' 2021 album Wimberley was released, Day sent him a message inquiring about a writing session, which led to the formation of Chaparelle as well as a romantic relationship. The duo resides in Texas and named themselves after chaparral, a type of shrub native to the state.
Their debut single “Bleeding Hearts” was released on June 28, 2024, which was followed by the singles “Sex & Rage”, “Devil’s Music”, “Inside the Lines” and “Playing Diamonds Cashing Checks” throughout the next year. The group’s debut album Western Pleasure was released in April 2025.
Day and Woods got engaged on August 24, 2024 and married on April 11, 2026, with Bedford serving as their wedding officiant.
